$5.50 per day (845.31 LRD per day) for unskilled workers and $3.50 per day (537.93 LRD per day) for domestic workers.

Overtime Pay

The normal work hours in Liberia is eight hours a day. Work hours exceeding the daily working hours should be paid at the rate of 50% above the normal rate. Same rates apply for working on public holidays as well.

Offboarding & Termination

In case of a definite period contract, work contracts end without the need of giving notice as per the terms and conditions. Whereas in case of an indefinite contract, the employer has the right to dismiss the employees by giving them notice.

Employers have to give 2 weeks notice for non-salaried employees and 4 weeks notice in case of salaried employees.

Employers either have to give notice or payment in lieu of notice.

Visa and Immigration

Foreign nationals who want to work in Liberia need to get a work permit/Visa. In Liberia, work permits are linked to employers, so when you change a job, you need to apply for a new work permit as well.
