In Mali, there are strict laws and regulations against unfair dismissal. The employment contract can be terminated only based on irregularities or misconduct. However, in case of dismissal after one year of service, the employer must provide notice and severance pay to the employee.

The notice period in Mali is 7 days to 3 months.

In Mali, the severance is only payable after one year of service. However, there will be no severance pay if the dismissal is due to gross negligence on the employee’s part. The severance pay is calculated as follows;

  • 25% for each above five to ten years of service
