Introduction

In order to employ a foreign national in the Thailand, an organization must obtain an official visa and work permit for the candidate. This requires formal employment by a Thailand entity and navigating through a detailed immigration process. To simplify this, Multiplier offers comprehensive assistance to companies for visas and work permits.

Visa Issuance Time*: 

6-8 weeks

Visa Feasibility Check

  • Multiplier will conduct a feasibility check to evaluate if the employee is eligible to apply for a visa in Thailand.
  • In order to conduct the check, a basic set of documents are requested from the employee:
    1. Passport (front and back)
    2. Current location of employee 
    3. Gross Annual salary details
    4. Job Title/Designation/Salary 
    5. Any existing Visa
    6. Highest education certificate
  • Once the desired information is shared, our team will confirm the visa feasibility for the respective employee within 2 working days.

Visa Eligibility Check

  • Employee submits the full set of requested documents which are then verified for visa eligibility
  • A kickoff call with a Multiplier Visa Specialist is scheduled

2-3 days once the required documents are duly shared with correct details

Invoicing

  • A visa and deposit invoice is sent to the client post consultation with the CSM

Offer Letter/agreement contract:

  • The contract is created and shared for client review
  • Once client approves and invoice is paid, offer letter will further be shared with the member for signatures.

2-3 days depending on the customer

Open BOI position:

After reviewing the required documents and details, we will open the BOI position for the member. The processing time takes approximately 20 working days to obtain necessary approvals, including:

  • The invitation letter issued by the BOI
  • Corporate supporting documentation and information for applying for a NON-immigrant B visa (working) with a 90-day single entry at the Thai Embassy from abroad.

Apply for 90 days Non-Immigrant “B/IB, O” Visa, Single Entry at Thai Embassies/Consulates

  • Once the members receive the necessary documents from us, our immigration partner will arrange to apply for a 90-day Non-Immigrant B visa at the Thai Embassy from abroad.
  • If member has dependants accompanying, they can apply for Non-Immigrant O visas simultaneously.
  • A visa is typically processed within 3-5 working days after receiving the completed application and full visa fee, provided all information meets the criteria set by the authorities; otherwise, processing may take longer.
  • Members must enter Thailand within 90 days of visa approval.

Visa Issuance of Single Entry Permit:

Once the member has obtained a Non-Immigrant B/IB visa from the Thai consulate/embassy and has entered Thailand, they need to provide us with the following documents:

  1. A copy of the page showing the 90-day Non-Immigrant B/IB visa. For family members, include a copy of the page showing the 90-day Non-Immigrant O visa.
  2. A copy of the latest arrival stamp (upon entering Thailand).
  3. Current address in Bangkok; if staying in a condominium, apartment, or hotel, please provide room number and floor number.
  4. Thai mobile number.

Apply for Visa Extension of Stay Permit and Work Permit for 1 Year:


  • The partner will apply for a Thai digital work permit and visa extension (single or multiple entries) through the online immigration system immediately.
  • They will visit the One-Stop Service Center for Visa and Work Permit in Bangkok within the next 15-20 working days.

Appointment Confirmation

The member will receive a long-term visa extension with re-entry permits and a digital work permit valid for 1 year on the same day.

  • Location: One Stop Service in Bangkok
  • Required Documents: Original passport and TM6 (if applicable)
  • Processing Time: This step can take about 2 hours, and there will be an assistant from the partner to help the member throughout the work permit and visa extension process, including assistance in opening a Thai bank account.

Onboarding & Verification

  • Employee is required to submit personal bank information and Emirates ID on Multiplier platform
  • If all is in order and deposit has been paid, the employee is activated for payroll
  • Activation cutoff for same month payroll is the 15th

Detailed Process Overview

Step 1 – Visa Initiation by the client

Initiate a visa request during onboarding. The process will commence after basic details are confirmed. 

Step 2 – Document Submission

The employee will receive an email from us. They must sign up and upload eligibility documents. 

Step 3 – Kick off Meeting

A Visa Specialist will guide the employee through the visa process, timelines, information required and align on expected relocation date.

Step 4 – Offer Letter Creation

The offer letter is created by the Visa team with the expected start date and is shared with the company for review.

Step 5 – Employee Signature

Once the letter is reviewed and the visa fee invoice is paid, the offer letter will further be shared with the employee for signature.

Step 6 – Visa & Work Permit

Once the employee signs the contract, Multiplier files the visa & work permit application.

Step 7 – Onboarding Details

Once the visa is issued, the employee will be requested to upload additional details such as bank details,  and work permit details to continue the onboarding process.

Step 8 – Employee Activation

Next, the details are verified and onboarding will be complete and the employee will be activated on Multiplier.

  • Documents collection & review: Eligibility documents are collected from the employee 
  • Kick-off Meeting: Kick off meeting between is held with the employee 
  • BOI Position opening

  • Single entry application: Apply for 90 days Non-Immigrant “B/IB, O” Visa, Single Entry at Thai Embassies/Consulates
  • Visa Issuance of Single Entry Permit: Submit required documents to the authorities

  • Work Permit appointment:Biometric center for the employee is allocated by the authorities and informed
  • Activation: The employee/dependent receives the emirates ID within 12-15 working days

Visa Application Process Updates 

Both you and the employee will receive regular notifications from our visa team regarding the progress and latest updates in the visa application process.

Kick – Off Meeting

The objective of this meeting is to offer clarity on the various milestones encompassing the entire visa process, along with associated timelines and the documents/information required. It’s important to note that milestones and timelines might differ between countries due to variations in embassy requirements and provided guidelines.

Bi-Weekly Email Updates 

The objective is to provide clarity and transparency regarding the status of visa processing.

An email will be sent on a bi-weekly basis to the employee and employer containing the current status and outlining the next steps.

Monthly Updates 

Meeting will be scheduled by the Visa Specialist to inform the employee of the current status and upcoming steps.
